Stars earn No. 2 seed in SAC Tournament

OCU owns 12 SAC Tournament championships

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University collected the second seed in the Sooner Athletic Conference baseball tournament beginning May 7 at Jim Wade Stadium in Oklahoma City.
The SAC Tournament features two four-team brackets with the other bracket taking place at Bill Smith Ballpark in Chickasha, Okla. The teams that emerge from each bracket square off for the tournament championship 1 p.m. May 10 in Chickasha, Okla.
Second seed Oklahoma City (29-15) entertains No. 3 seed Texas Wesleyan (27-14), sixth seed Wayland Baptist (24-23) and seventh seed Southwestern Assemblies of God (28-25) to form one bracket of the tournament.
Science & Arts (30-10) meets No. 8 seed Panhandle State (12-35), and fourth-seeded Southwestern Christian (40-10) takes on fifth seed Mid-America Christian (23-24) on May 7 also at Bill Smith Ballpark.
The Drovers, ranked 11th, topped No. 21 Oklahoma City 7-1 on Saturday for the SAC regular-season title. Science & Arts has taken the past two SAC Tournament crowns.
