OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City takes on Mid-America Christian University in the double-elimination stage of the Sooner Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament at Joe Becker Ballpark in Joplin, Missouri at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.

The other two teams in the bracket are top-seeded Texas Wesleyan and fifth-seeded Nelson.

The two losing teams meet in an elimination game at 6 p.m. on Friday, with the winners meeting at 1 p.m. on Saturday. A second elimination game is set for 4 p.m. on Saturday with the championship set for Sunday at 1 p.m.

OCU Notebook
Previously: Oklahoma City advanced to the Sooner Athletic Conference final site with two wins on Friday against Wayland Baptist in walk-off fashion. The Stars won the opener in 11 innings, 5-4, and took the second game with two runs in the bottom of the ninth, 4-3. After falling behind 4-0 in the first inning of the opener, OCU held the Pioneers scoreless for the next 10 innings.
Bauer Brittain pitched eight strong innings and
Nick Anaya got the win, tossing three scoreless innings.
Trent Baker singled in a pair of runs to get OCU on the scoreboard in the fifth inning and
Heath Brown added a squeeze bunt, followed by an
Aiden Alexander RBI single to tie the game in the sixth inning.
Eli Hill doubled to begin the 11
th inning for OCU and pinch runner
Gage Geiger took third on a sacrifice bunt by Brown before scoring on a single to right-center by Alexander. The Stars had 11 hits, led by Hill with four. Alexander, Baker and
Clayton Allen had two each. In the second game, Wayland Baptist broke a scoreless tie with a run in the fifth inning, but the Stars tied the game in the sixth when Baker stole third and scored on a throwing error.
Cooper Holtorf was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to give the Stars a 2-1 lead in the eighth. WBU scored twice in the top of the ninth for a 3-2 lead, but the Stars prevented further damage, gunning out a runner at home on a throw from
Cooper Holtorf in left and relayed to Brown by Allen. OCU tied the game when
Bayler Weaver scored on a wild pitch and won it on an RBI single by
Wyatt Pace. The Stars had 10 hits, led by
Brittain Brewer, Baker,
Aiden Van Rensum and Holtorf with two each. Baker got the win in relief.

Postseason Numbers: The Stars batted .292 in the best-of-three and held the Pioneers to a .147 batting average. Brittain Bauer pitched eight scoreless innings;
Cayden Maxwell carried a 1.29 ERA over seven innings and
Nick Anaya allowed one run in 4.1 innings of relief.
Eli Hill and
Trent Baker had four hits each and hit .500 for the series.

OCU vs. MACU: Mid-America Christian swept the series at OCU, 8-3, 12-3 and 6-4. The Stars hit .267, led by
Trent Baker, who went six for 10 and
Clayton Allen at five for nine. OCU carried a 9.39 ERA in the series.

OCU vs. TWU: The Rams scored a 2-1 series win in three close games. TWU won the first two, 8-6 and 2-1 before OCU took a 12-11 win in the finale.
Brittain Brewer was 10 for 12 (.833) in the series with five RBIs.
Bauer Brittain was the hard-luck loser in the 2-1 game, allowing two runs in his complete game. Â

OCU vs. Nelson: Nelson got two of three from OCU in Waxahachie, winning 7-1 and 3-2 before OCU won the getaway game, 8-7.
Trent Baker batted .556 for the Stars, which had a .279 team batting average in those three games.
