New protocols for Stars home events

OCU asks fans to continue to observe safety protocols

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University will allow fans to its on-campus athletic events with square footage-based attendance limits according to each venue.
Oklahoma City has adjusted its capacity limit based upon the conditions within the community and on campus with consideration of the health and safety of its student-athletes, coaches, staff and fans.
Attendance thresholds for each on-campus OCU athletic facility:

• Competitions held at Abe Lemons Arena will be limited to 250 according to the maximum-adjusted capacity to allow social distancing between attendees
• Brian Harvey Field bleachers will be limited to 27 people, however, the sideline allows for an additional 200 ground seating
• Ann Lacy Stadium softball bleachers will be limited to 60 people. Additional standing room of 80 people
• Jim Wade Stadium has 100 bleacher seats available with 25 additional standing room areas

The following expectations remain in place at Stars' athletic events:

• Fans will be subject to symptom screenings and temperature checks upon arrival at all OCU facilities
• Masks required at all venues
• Socially distance 6 feet from others at all times
• Wash hands
• All coaches, student-athletes and personnel on the sidelines during competition are required to wear masks or face shields

OCU officials will continue to monitor the trends within the community and will adjust these protocols if necessary.
The Stars compete intercollegiately in 22 sports: baseball, competitive cheerleading, competitive pom/dance, softball, STUNT, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, cross country, golf, rowing, soccer, track & field and wrestling. OCU has won 69 national championships in all sports.
