Stars cheer tops Texas Wesleyan

OCU competes next on Feb. 24

OKALAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University's cheerleading team topped Texas Wesleyan in a two-round competition Saturday night at Abe Lemons Arena.
The Stars reeled in a score of 84.775 in the first round while Texas Wesleyan notched a 57.15. In the second round, OCU delivered a 66.775-point performance and again defeated the Rams, who ended the round with 57.7 points.
The 2018 NAIA Competitive Cheerleading and Dance Championships will be hosted by OCU on March 9-10 at Abe Lemons Arena. The Stars have won NAIA cheerleading titles in 2014, 2015 and 2017 and own nine National Cheerleaders Association title.
OCU returns to action Feb. 24 at the NAIA south qualifying group championships in Belleville, Ill.
