OCU cheer takes third at NAIA Nationals

Ypsilanti, Mich. – Oklahoma City competitive cheer earned their second consecutive third place national finish on Friday at the NAIA Cheer and Dance National Championships on the campus of Eastern Michigan University.

The Stars posted a score of 95.38 on day one in the preliminary round, third best score of the day one competition. OCU improved on that score in the final round with a 96.08, however it came shy of the top two spots leaving Oklahoma City with a third place finish and a final score of 95.91, its second highest score of the season. 

OCU cheer will compete one more time this spring as the Stars will travel to Daytona Beach, Florida for the National Cheerleading Association (NCA) National Championships on Thursday, April 11.
