KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Katie Gregory from Oklahoma City University became a four-time NAIA competitive cheerleading all-American, while Tyra Terry snared her second all-America nod. 

Gregory earned first-team acclaim, while Terry took second-team honors. 

Gregory, a senior nursing major from Choctaw, Okla., boasted of her third first-team all-America honor. She reeled in honorable-mention all-America acclaim as a junior. Gregory joined Maggie Hirsekorn (2017-20) and Kenzie Landes (2019-22) as OCU's four-time NAIA all-American cheerleaders. 

Terry, a sophomore from Piedmont, Okla., majoring in biomedical sciences, snagged honorable-mention all-American status for the second year in a row. 

The Stars collected third place in the NAIA Championships with an overall score of 89.68 on March 10-11 in Ypsilanti, Mich. Oklahoma City put together an average score of 89.23, which ranked fourth in the NAIA in 2022-23. 

To become an NAIA all-American, student-athletes perform in the all-American routine. Officials judge the athletes during the tryout, and all-Americans are determined by the judges' scores. An athlete must score at least a total of 12 in order to be considered for honorable mention and one must score at least a total of 16 in order to be considered for all-America. The CCD Coaches Association officers then confirm the list of scores and athletes. 

Oklahoma City has won four NAIA championships (2014, 2015, 2017 and 2021) and nine National Cheerleaders Association crowns.
