SEWARD, NEB. – Oklahoma City University cheer made the trip to Seward, Nebraska to compete in the Concordia Day of Duals on Saturday afternoon. The Stars swept the day, winning their first head-to-head matchup of the day over Morningside University and then set the highest score in program history in the second dual against Midland University. In the combined scoring, Oklahoma City had the second highest mark as it totaled 181.1 falling right behind Midland who led the way with a score of 185.16.
In the first round of duals, Oklahoma City University faced off against Morningside University. The Stars earned high honors from the judges with a score of 87.3 compared to the Mustangs 72.02.
In the second round of duals, OCU faced off against Midland University. The Stars won the dual with a high score of 94.5, its highest in program history, surpassing the Warriors' score of 92.18.
Claiming the top spot in the overall team totals for the day in cheer, Midland achieved a combined score of 185.16. Following closely was OCU with an overall score of 181.80 and Northwestern with a combined score of 167.16.
Next Up, Oklahoma City will travel to Olathe, Kansas and North Newton, Kansas for two more competitions this weekend to compete at MidAmerica Nazarene University on Friday (Feb. 16) before competing in the Thresher Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 17) at Bethany University.
