Pike, a senior right-hander from Southampton, N.Y., worked a no-hitter for three innings, allowing SAGU's first hit to Brock Schneider leading off the fourth. Schneider advanced to third on a fielder's choice grounder, then Jonathan Santiago's grounder to third ended the SAGU threat. Pike struck out eight and permitted two hits and a walk in six innings. Pike (7-2) took 71 pitches to complete his outing.
Marsh, a senior righty from Oceanport, N.J., fanned two in a 1-2-3 seventh.
OCU scored four runs each in the second and third innings. Austin Murphy sparked the Stars offense by crushing a solo home run past the right-field wall with one out in the second. With two out, Kyle Lacy smacked an RBI double past the first baseman for OCU. The Stars went up 4-0 on Ryan Wright's two-run two-bagger to left-center field.
In the third, Josh Halbert chased SAGU starting pitcher Hayden Killebrew by nailing a two-run base hit to right. Wright drove in OCU's seventh run on a single to left, then Connor Lynch added a run-scoring double to deep left field.
Murphy scored from third base in the fourth when Mason Toole got caught in a rundown after Toole singled.
In the fifth, Wright pounded an RBI triple to left-center, while Lynch knocked in Wright on an infield single to the shortstop. Murphy tacked on a sacrifice fly to close out the Stars scoring.
Wright, a junior from Fruitland, Idaho, had his second three-hit game and third four-RBI outing for OCU, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored, a double, triple and four RBIs. Murphy, a junior from Denver, went 3-for-3, scored three times, stole a base and knocked in two RBIs.
Halbert, a junior from Choctaw, Okla., went 2-for-2, scored two times and drove in two runs, and Toole, a junior from Mangum, Okla., was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Lynch, a junior from Marietta, Ga., went 2-for-4 with his 15th double of the year and two RBIs, while Lacy, a sophomore from Edmond, Okla., went 1-for-3, scored twice and knocked in a run.
