OKLAHOMA CITY – Second-ranked Oklahoma City gets back to the links in the Northwest Iowa Invitational in men's golf on Monday and Tuesday.
 
The two-day, three-round event launches from Willow Creek Golf Club in Le Mars, Iowa, with 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday,

The Stars: OCU's team contingent includes Christian Yanovitch, Lorenzo Santinelli, Carter Ray, Philipp Perzl and Simon Jansson, Jack Newton represents the Stars as an individual entrant. Ray joins the scoring unit this tournament after competing as an individual in the UC Ferguson to open the season.
 
Last Time On the Course: The Stars are coming off a victory at the UC Ferguson. The Stars finished at 22 under par and held off a late charge by fifth-ranked MidAmerica Nazarene by two strokes. Number 23 USAO was third at 18 under, followed by Hastings, No. 8 Texas Wesleyan and No. 17 Northwestern (Iowa) among teams that finished under par. Philipp Perzl and individual entrant Jack Newton paced the Stars in third place at nine under. Lorenzo Santinelli was eight under for fifth place, Simon Jansson was seventh at five under and Christian Yanovitch was 28^th at even par. Carter Ray was 32^nd at one over, JJ Grimm was 40^th at three over, Cameron Bozyk was 47^th at four over and Luke Woods was 56^th at seven over.
 
Last Year at NII: OCU is the defending champion of the Northwest Iowa Invitational. The Stars took the title and Carter Ray placed second at one under par.
 
The Field: The field for this tournament is strong. Along with the No. 2 Stars, it includes No, 5 MidAmerica Nazarene, No. 7 Ottawa, No. 8 Texas Wesleyan, No. 10 Friends, No. 13 The Master's, No. 14 Marian, No. 17 Northwestern (Iowa), No. 19 Lewis-Clark State, No. 23 USAO and vote-getter Arizona Christian. Also in the field are Grand View, Morningside and Embry-Riddle.
