#2 Men's Golf Ray Fink

Men's Golf Begins with UC Ferguson on Monday

OKLAHOMA CITY – The men's golf season launches Monday for 2025 NAIA runner up Oklahoma City when the Stars host the UC Ferguson Invitational at Lincoln Park.

The 72-hole tournament includes two rounds on Monday with the final round scheduled for Tuesday.

Tournament Notes
All-Americans Are Back: Oklahoma City has two All-Americans returning this season in Christian Yanovitch and Lorenzo Santinelli. That duo was part of a four-All-American lineup last season. Yanovitch averaged 70.3 strokes and had a pair of top three finishes. Santinelli finished in the top three once and averaged 71.5 strokes.

Strong Crop of Returners: Yanovitch and Santinelli are not the only talented golfers returning to the Stars this season. Senior Luke Woods and sophomores Carter Ray, Philipp Perzl, Jack Newton and JJ Grimm also give OCU a talented group. Ray had a stroke average of 72.3, followed by Perzl at 72.4, Newton at 75.1, Grimm at 75.9 and Woods at 76.6.

Talented Newcomers: A pair of newcomers should make their presence felt quickly. Cameron Bozyk transfers from Adrian College and Simon Jansson comes in as a freshman from Gothenburg, Sweden. Bozyk had a 74.9 stroke average at Adrian, picking up three wins. Jansson had a 74.2 stroke average in overseas tournaments.

OCU at Ferguson: The Stars won their home fall tournament last year with a 29-under-par performance. Philipp Perzl is the top returning performer from that tournament, in which he finished 17th at one-under-par. OCU has won three of the last four UC Ferguson crowns.

The Field: Joining OCU in the tournament are Northwestern College, MidAmerica Nazarene, Hesston, Texas Wesleyan, Bellevue, Southwestern Christian, Hastings, USAO and Kansas Wesleyan. TWU was sixth in last season's final poll. Bellevue was 17th and Northwestern was 18th. USAO, Hastings and SCU received points in the final poll.

Star-Studded Pool: Along with OCU's two All-Americans, the UC Ferguson potentially has two other All-Americans in the field. Brady Meek of Texas Wesleyan was a second-team All-American as a freshman last season. Josh Killingsworth was a third-team All-American for MNU.
