Stars to Face OPSU in SAC Women's First Round

OKLAHOMA CITY – For the third consecutive season, John Brown University will enter the postseason as the top seed in the 2025 Sooner Athletic Conference Women's Soccer tournament, slated to begin on Wednesday, November 5. The opening round will be played at the home of the top four seeds in the tournament.
 
The regular season crown is the ninth all-time for the Golden Eagles and the seventh under head coach Dr. Kathleen Paulsen. With the win, John Brown completed its sixth undefeated league play effort in program history (24 seasons).
 
Science & Arts will begin the tournament as the No. 2 seed, while Oklahoma City will be the No. 3 seed, with Mid-America Christian joining the field as the No. 4 seed.
 
The No. 11-ranked Golden Eagles will play host to the No. 8 seed Wayland Baptist at Alumni Field in Siloam Springs, Ark., in a 6 p.m. start. John Brown wrapped up their championship regular season with an overall record of 10-2-4 and a league mark of 7-0-2. The Pioneers join the field with an overall mark of 4-9-1 and a league record of 2-6-1. The Golden Eagles won the regular season contest by a score of 5-0 back on Oct. 4.
 
The No. 20-ranked Drovers will start tournament play by hosting the No. 7 seed Nelson at McLaughlin Field in Chickasha, Okla., with the match slated to begin at 7 p.m. Science & Arts completed the regular season with an overall mark of 11-2-5 and a conference record of 6-0-3. The Lions enter the tournament with an overall record of 8-7-2 and a league record of 3-6-0. The Drovers claimed the regular season contest 2-0 this past Tuesday evening.
 
The Stars are currently receiving votes in the latest coaches' poll as they will welcome No. 6 seed Panhandle State to Brian Harvey Field in Oklahoma City, with the match time set for 7 p.m. Oklahoma City finished the regular season with an overall record of 13-2-2 and a league mark of 6-2-1. The Aggies enter tournament play with an overall mark of 6-6-2 and a conference record of 3-4-2. The Stars claimed the regular-season contest back on Sept. 29 by a score of 5-0.
 
The final first-round match-up will see the Evangels, who are also receiving votes in the coaches' poll, play host to No. 5 seed Southwestern Christian at Dill Soccer Field in Oklahoma City, with action set to begin at 7 p.m. Mid-America Christian wrapped up the 2025 regular season with an overall record of 10-3-3 and a league mark of 5-1-3. The Eagles completed the season with an overall record of 12-4-1 and a conference mark of 5-4-0. Southwestern Christian handed MACU their lone conference loss back on Oct. 11 by a score of 2-0.
 
The tournament semifinal will take place on Saturday, November 8, while the championship match will be held on Wednesday, November 12.
