ALLEN, Texas – Oklahoma City University completed an unbeaten run through the Southern Collegiate Sports Invitational with a 9-1 victory over York (Neb.) on Saturday at the Allen Station Park.
The Stars, ranked fourth in NAIA softball, knocked off Bellevue (Neb.) 7-3 on Saturday morning. OCU moved to 5-0 over the weekend.
Against Bellevue, Brooklyn Mason keyed the win by knocking in two runs on a double to left field in the fourth inning. OCU plated five runs in the fourth as Kaitlyn Jones drove in a run on a base hit to left. Kennedy Jackson's sacrifice fly gave the Stars a 5-1 advantage.
Rally Radacy added a run-scoring base hit to center to put OCU ahead 7-1 in the sixth.
Lexi Duff improved to 3-0 on the year by working five innings. Shelbey Cornelson pitched the final two innings.
Against York, Cornelson struck out 10 in five innings to pick up the win.
In the second inning, the Stars piled up five runs. Mallory McCoy sparked OCU with an RBI double to center, and Radacy knocked in a run on a single to center. Tiffany Paul added a sacrifice fly, while Duff's RBI single put the Stars on top 6-0.
OCU plays Southwestern Christian in a 2 p.m. doubleheader Tuesday for the Stars' first games at Ann Lacy Stadium this season.
