OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University faces Panhandle State in the Sooner Athletic Conference baseball tournament 11 a.m. Friday at Jim Wade Stadium.
The Stars (43-11) host a four-team double-elimination bracket with USAO holding the other side of the bracket in Chickasha, Okla.
Each bracket's winner will be decided 1 p.m. Sunday with an if-necessary game set for 45 minutes following the conclusion of the first game. The winners advance to the SAC Tournament championship game 1 p.m. May 6 at Jim Wade Stadium.
Oklahoma City has taken 12 SAC Tournament crowns. The SAC boasts of three top 25-ranked teams – eighth-ranked USAO, No. 9 Oklahoma City and 14th-rated Texas Wesleyan.
The Stars' Tyler Williams, a junior outfielder from Peoria, Ariz., hits .411 with 15 doubles, two triples, 14 home runs, 65 RBIs and 12 stolen bases. Williams ranks ninth in RBIs, 10th in slugging percentage (.815) and 11th in RBIs per game (1.30) among the NAIA. OCU rates seventh nationally with 117 doubles as a team.
Bryce Milligan has posted an 11-1 record, 1.81 earned run average and 109 strikeouts in 79.2 innings pitched. Milligan, a junior right-hander from Blanchard, Okla., ranks second in the NAIA in wins and 10th in ERA. The Stars have struck out 457 batters to rank third as a team in the NAIA.

USAO won the 2018 SAC Tournament. Stevie Thompson smacked a 10th-inning three-run home run to give the Drovers the championship 11-8 over the Stars. Oklahoma City rallied to tie the game with six runs in the eighth.
