OCU collects three all-SAC honors

Caputo grabs first-team all-SAC once again

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University's Madi Caputo took first-team all-Sooner Athletic Conference honors, while Keilah Ayum and Rebekah Brantley collected second-team all-SAC to give the Stars three all-conference honorees.
OCU picked up its fifth straight winning record in SAC play and third straight winning record overall in 2019. They are set to face Mid-America Christian in the SAC Tournament quarterfinals 2 p.m. Saturday in Oklahoma City.
Caputo, a sophomore from Broken Arrow, Okla., and Ayum, a senior from Pembroke Pines, Fla., both received their second all-SAC accolade. Caputo picks up her second straight first-team all-conference honor. Brantley earned her first all-SAC honor at OCU after gathering league newcomer of the year in 2018.
Caputo led the team with 11 goals this season, including an SAC-best six game-winners, and tallied five assists for a team-high 27 points. She notched five two-goal games this year, including a multi-goal match in a key road win over Wayland Baptist (Texas) in Plainview, Texas on Oct. 26. Caputo added two multi-assist games against Panhandle State on Oct. 1 and Mid-America Christian on Oct. 22.
Outside backs Ayum and Brantley have aided a Stars backline that has accumulated five shutouts on the season, fourth in the SAC.
Ayum started 16 games for OCU, dishing out two assists on the year, while Brantley, a senior from Broken Arrow, Okla., also started in 16 games for the Stars this season, totaling one goal, the game winner against Randall on Sept. 5, and three assists.
Harvey owns a 379-129-27 record coaching OCU's women's program through 26 years. He has been the Stars' head coach since the inception of the men's program in 1986.
Harvey collected his 800th career win in the women's season opener 3-0 against Houston-Victoria on Aug. 31 in Victoria, Texas. Harvey has a combined men's and women's college mark of 814-340-70 in 34 years. Harvey has been inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame, Oklahoma Soccer Association Hall of Fame and the Oklahoma City University Athletics Hall of Fame.
