OCU's Corso nabs SAC player of week

Junior from Lancaster, Pa., picks up second straight honor for Stars

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University third baseman Shaun Corso grabbed Sooner Athletic Conference baseball player of the week for his performances the week of Feb. 6-12.
Corso, a junior out of Lancaster, Pa., hit a whopping .542 and had a 1.000 slugging percentage over six games, five of which were OCU victories. Corso hit five doubles and two home runs in the week while driving in 13 runs and scoring seven.
In a doubleheader against Evangel (Mo.), Corso went 6-for-8 with two homers, two doubles, six RBIs and four runs scored. He also helped OCU knock off 25th-ranked MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) by going 3-for-5 with three RBIs, a double and a run scored.
On the season, Corso is hitting .500 with a .947 slugging percentage, 16 RBIs, eight doubles and three home runs. He ranks second in the NAIA in doubles this season.
He is the second straight Star to grab the honors, as senior Jerame Littell took the honor for Jan. 30-Feb. 5.
