Simon from OCU takes SAC pitcher of week

Junior from Houston gives Stars three league pitcher of week honorees in 2016

OKLAHOMA CITY – Mark Simon of Oklahoma City University became Sooner Athletic Conference baseball pitcher of the week for April 18-24.
Simon, a junior right-hander from Houston, became the third OCU hurler to be honored by the league this season.
Saturday, Simon held Wayland Baptist (Texas) to one run on three hits and two walks in a seven-inning complete-game effort. Simon struck out a season-best 14 while logging 114 pitches. He struck out the side in the sixth.
Simon has a 6-4 record with a 4.79 earned run average this season. He has fanned 67 in 67.2 innings with four complete games.
The Stars (32-17) take on Dallas Christian in 1 p.m. doubleheader Tuesday in Dallas.
