Stars' Lytle earns SAC baseball player of week

Sophomore from Yukon, Okla., picks up first weekly league honor

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University's Joe Lytle earned the Sooner Athletic Conference's baseball player of the week for March 7-13.
Lytle, a sophomore from Yukon, Okla., went 10-for-14 (.714) with a 1.071 slugging percentage in the Stars' four-game series against Bemidji State (Minn.) on March 12-13 in Oklahoma City. OCU, ranked fifth in NAIA baseball, improved to 17-8 on the season after taking the series 3-1.
In Saturday's doubleheader, Lytle finished 6-for-7 highlighted by a walk-off two-run home run to seal game one for the Stars. He tallied six RBIs, three runs, a double and a sacrifice fly.
On Sunday, he went 3-for-4 with a run scored in game one, while also going 3-for-4 in game two with an RBI, a stolen base and a run.
Through 25 games, Lytle is batting .418 with 23 RBIs, nine doubles and one home run on a team-high 38 hits.
