Cook of Stars becomes SAC pitcher of week

Junior right-hander deals No. 1-ranked Oklahoma Baptist first loss of year

OKLAHOMA CITY – Dustin Cook of Oklahoma City University collected Sooner Athletic Conference baseball pitcher of the week for March 23-29.
Cook, a junior right-hander from Huffman, Texas, notched his second consecutive weekly SAC award and third of the season.
On Friday, Cook keyed the Stars' 12-2 win over previously unbeaten Oklahoma Baptist. Cook held top-ranked OBU to two runs on six hits and three walks in an eight-inning complete-game effort. Cook fanned five to move to 6-0 on the year.
Cook leads the conference with a 0.89 earned run average. He has struck out 55 in 50.2 innings with four complete games in eight starts for the Stars, ranked 11th in the NAIA.
Oklahoma City (27-7) faces Oklahoma Christian at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Dobson Field in Oklahoma City. Follow the game via live stats.
