OCU’s Wieck takes SAC baseball honor

OKLAHOMA CITY – Brad Wieck of Oklahoma City University was named Sooner Athletic Conference baseball pitcher of the week for March 31-April 6.
Wieck, a junior from Canyon, Texas, threw a complete-game, three-hit shutout at Northwood (Texas). He struck out 15 batters without a walk and retired the last 14 Knights consecutively.
Wieck is 2-3 with five saves in 10 appearances this season. The 6-foot-9 lefty owns an earned run average of 3.51 with 55 strikeouts in 41 innings pitched.
The Stars, ranked No. 10 in NAIA baseball, will return to action against Oklahoma Christian at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Dobson Field in Oklahoma City.
