Stars shut out Northwood 3-0

OCU stays unbeaten in SAC play

Meghan McMahon scored her 70th career goal against Northwood.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University shut out Northwood (Texas) 3-0 Saturday at Stars Field.
The Stars, ranked No 22 in NAIA women's soccer, notched their fourth consecutive shutout and improved to 8-3 overall and 4-0 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
Allison Worsham scored the first goal of the match when she took a pass from Meghan McMahon and beat Northwood goalkeeper Hideka Shikata to give OCU a 1-0 advantage.
McMahon took a pass from Ariel Bayatfar and scored in the 49th minute to push the Stars' lead to 2-0. With the goal, McMahon brought her career total to 70.
In the 77th minute, Bayatfar found Gianna Puskarich with a pass into the box. Puskarich headed the ball past Shikata and scored to give the Stars the 3-0 victory.
Senior goalkeepers Ashley Bechtold and Alissa Reed each played 45 minutes in goal for OCU and both tallied one save.
The Stars will return to action against Southwestern Christian at 1 p.m. Oct. 15 in Bethany, Okla.
