Stars' Phillips takes SAC player of week

Junior from Nacogdoches, Texas posted .875 batting average, 1.625 slugging percentage for week

Dane Phillips picked up his second nod this year as Sooner Athletic Conference baseball player of the week. Phillips was chosen SAC player of the week for Feb. 20-26.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University catcher-outfielder Dane Phillips garnered Sooner Athletic Conference baseball player of the week for April 9-15.
Phillips, a junior from Nacogdoches, Texas, batted .875 (7-for-8) in a two-game sweep of Oklahoma Christian. He had three doubles, a home run and five RBIs for the week. He also had a 1.625 slugging percentage and scored two runs.
On the season, Phillips leads OCU with a .443 batting average, 54 RBIs and 62 hits entering Monday's game vs. Bacone. Phillips also has 20 doubles, two triples and 12 home runs. He ranks second in the NAIA with 122 total bases and 3.13 total bases per game, third in doubles, doubles per game (0.51) and slugging percentage (.871) and fifth in RBIs and RBIs per game (1.39).
