Phillips of OCU chosen as SAC baseball player of week

Junior from Nacogdoches, Texas hit .500 with two home runs, six RBIs last week

Dane Phillips became the first Star to be named Sooner Athletic Conference baseball player of the week this year.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City catcher-outfielder Dane Phillips garnered Sooner Athletic Conference baseball player of the week honors for Feb. 20-26.
Phillips, a junior from Nacogdoches, Texas, batted .500 and slugged 1.125 in OCU's 3-1 week. He scored four runs and had two doubles, a triple, two home runs and six RBIs.
On the season, Phillips has hit .364 with six doubles, one triple, four homers and 14 RBIs.
The Stars, ranked No. 1 in the NAIA, take on Oklahoma Wesleyan at 2 p.m. Tuesday. OCU enters the contest 11-4. To listen to, watch or follow the game via live stats, click here.
