OCU notches first baseball win 13-1 over LSU-Alexandria

Jackson, Pollard knock out home runs for Stars

Mike Richard recorded the win in the Stars' first victory of the year.

ALEXANDRIA, La. – Oklahoma City University picked up its first win of the year 13-1 over LSU-Alexandria on Sunday at Generals Field.

Terrance Jackson and Julien Pollard each homered for the Stars. OCU, ranked seventh in NAIA baseball, improved to 1-2 on the year.

Jackson, a senior from Greenville, Ala., went 1-for-4 with three RBIs. Pollard, a senior from Tacoma, Wash., was 4-for-4 with five runs driven in.

Mike Richard, a senior left-hander from Walla Walla, Wash., posted the victory by working five innings. He struck out two and allowed one run on three hits. Clint Maune and John Ragsdale finished on the mound for OCU.

The Stars rang up 13 hits. OCU plated three runs in the fourth inning and nine runs in the seventh.

OCU is slated to take on Southern Nazarene at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Bethany, Okla.
