CLAREMORE, Okla. – Oklahoma City University's baseball team knocked off Rogers State 9-2 on Thursday at the Hillcat Complex in Claremore, Okla.
The Stars, currently ranked first in the NAIA, improved to 19-1, 4-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
Kirk Walker, a sophomore from Bakersfield, Calif., led the Stars going 3-for-4, batting in two runs. David Mann, a junior from Albuquerque, N.M., also had two RBIs, going 1-for-3 on the day.
Steve Vitale, Brent Weaver, Landon Camp, Jason Machado and Brandon Moss all recorded one RBI for the Stars. Moss, a senior from Norman, Okla., went 3-for-5 on the day.
Ashur Tolliver, a junior from Little Rock, Ark., threw 7.2 innings for the Stars, recording his fifth win on the season. Tolliver recorded four strikeouts and gave up five hits with two runs for Rogers State. Dustin Williams, a junior from Norman, Okla., finished the game for the Stars, pitching 1.1 innings.
The Stars will face Rogers State on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Jim Wade Stadium.
