OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University moved to 8-0 with an 8-0 victory over Mid-America Christian on Tuesday.
The Stars, ranked second in the NAIA by Collegiate Baseball, booked 11 hits. Brent Weaver, a senior from Midwest City, Okla., went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Weaver also knocked out a home run.
B.J. Wheeler, a senior from Abilene, Texas, went 2-for-4. Kirk Walker had two RBIs for the Stars, while Jason Machado and Steve Vitale had one apiece.
Ashur Tolliver, a junior from Sherwood, Ark., took the mound for OCU, throwing 82 pitches in 5.2 innings to record the win. Zac Coplon, a sophomore from Claremore, Okla., finished the game for the Stars, pitching 1.1 innings. Mid-America managed only two hits.
The Stars will face Mid-America Christian at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Jim Wade Stadium.
