OKLAHOMA CITY ? Kody Kaiser?s walk-off home run to lead off the bottom of the eighth inning completed Oklahoma City University?s 12-8, 8-7 doubleheader sweep of USAO on Saturday at Jim Wade Stadium.
Kaiser launched a 1-0 pitch over the left-field fence, overcoming Ryan Birney?s two-run single for USAO that evened the game 7-7 in the seventh.
OCU improved to 27-5, 6-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference and three-game series sweep of USAO. USAO dropped to13-13-1, 2-4.
Kaiser went 4-for-5, scored four times and stole three bases. Brian Joynt went 2-for-2 and drew a bases-loaded walk during the Stars? three-run first inning.
Caleb Annesley, Justin Funk, Brandon Harrigan and Bobby Spain each drove in runs for OCU.
Nathan McDonald picked up his first win of the season by working the final two innings of the game.
In the first game, Annesley went 2-for-3 with four RBIs. Annesley popped a two-run homer in the Stars? five-run second inning. Kaiser smacked a three-run homer in the inning for the other runs. Annesley added a two-run double in the fourth.
Spain and Landon Camp each went 3-for-4 and scored twice. Camp led off the third inning with a home run.
Cody McAllister moved his record to 6-1 by striking out seven in four innings.
The Stars face Midland Lutheran (Neb.) at 2 p.m. Sunday at Jim Wade Stadium, followed by Hastings (Neb.) at 6 p.m.
