ADA, Okla. -- The Oklahoma City University women?s soccer team won its seven game in a row by beating East Central 2-1 on Sunday on
Jennifer Crawford?s goal in the 63rd minute.
Crawford, a sophomore from Owasso, Okla., scored off an assist from
Whitney Ward. Crawford took the pass and beat East Central goalkeeper
Christie Sarginson one on one, breaking a 1-1 tie.
The Stars, now 7-0-1, trailed 1-0 four minutes into the game as ECU?s
Semah Yekzaman scored.
OCU, ranked 15th in NAIA, rallied as
Zoe Barratt tied the score with a goal in the 40th minute.
Lacey Neuman provided the assist, hitting Barratt from Barratt?s left side. Barratt took the pass and shot to the far goal post.
The Stars put 33 shots on goal.
?We got scored on early and fought back,? OCU assistant coach
Billy Martin said. ?They caught us off guard, but after that, we were in their half most of the game.?
The Stars return home to play Texas A&M International at 2 p.m. on Friday at Stars Field.
