CLARKSVILLE, Ark. ? The Oklahoma City University women?s soccer team picked up its first victory of the season with a 10-1 domination at the University of The Ozarks.
Amanda Jones led the Stars (1-1-1) by scoring four goals, tying the school record for most goals in a game.
Jennifer Crawford put OCU on the board with less than nine minutes into the contest. The freshman netted her first goal as a Star after collecting a pass from
Whitney Ward.
Jones placed four consecutive goals into the net, all within a span of 12 minutes, and the Stars held a 5-0 lead with 15 minutes remaining in the first half.
Ozarks responded near the 40-minute mark, as
Lindy Swatzell ended the shutout off an assist by
Marissa Andrade.
Molly McGinnis finished the first half with her first career goal, and OCU held a 6-1 halftime advantage. The Stars led Ozarks in first half shots, 12-5, and finished the game with a 25-6 shot advantage.
Amanda Rivera added two goals in the second half, and
Ashley Mise and
Laurie Suter each collected a net shot.
OCU hosts East Central Oklahoma on Sunday, Sept. 5, at 4 p.m.
