TOPEKA – Oklahoma City had the second-best score of the preliminary round at the NAIA Competitive Cheerleading National Championships on Friday.
 
Defending national champion St. Ambrose had a better score than OCU for the first time this season but the Stars posted an impressive 92.92.
 
The Stars, champions of the American Midwest Conference, will be the 14^th of 15 teams to take the floor in the finals on Saturday, followed by SAU. The Stars are scheduled to perform at 12:10 p.m. with the results to be announced at 1 p.m.
 
Friday's score was OCU's fourth 90-plus score of the season.
