OKLAHOMA CITY – Third-ranked Oklahoma City heads to Goodwell this weekend for its first Sooner Athletic Conference road series at Oklahoma Panhandle State.
 
The doubleheaders launch at 2 p.m. on Friday and noon on Saturday.
 
OCU Notebook
Series History: The Stars have won the last nine games in the series, including a four-game sweep last season. OCU outscored the Aggies 35-2 in last year's series.
 
Previously: Third-ranked Oklahoma City completed the four-game sweep of Sooner Athletic Conference foe Wayland Baptist with a pair of wins, 9-1 and 9-2, on Monday. Analise Rayburn had three home runs in the doubleheader. 
 
Honors: Tara Hoehner was named Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Week for her production in Sunday's doubleheader with Wayland Baptist. Hoehner led the Stars by going 4-of-5 at the plate for a batting average of .800 over the span. Hoehner had a pair of doubles and a home run en route to driving in seven runs and scoring four times herself. Hoehner finished the weekend with a 1.800 slugging percentage and an .857 on-base percentage over the two games. Her honor gave OCU its second consecutive Player of the Week award. Analise Rayburn was SAC and NAIA Player of the Week on March 2. Brynlee Alsip has been SAC Pitcher of the Week twice – Feb. 9 and 23.
 
Hitting: The Stars are batting .373 as a team, led by freshman leadoff hitter Hadley Gibson at .500 (26-52). Her classmate, Kaiden Spidell, is batting .436. Analise Rayburn has a .410 batting average to go with a NAIA-leading 11 home runs and 40 RBIs. Four OCU starters (Rayburn, 1.538; Gibson, 1.279; Tara Hoehner, 1.140; and Spidell, 1.127) with OPS over 1.000.
 
Pitching: OCU heads into the series with a 1.66 earned run average as a team. Brynlee Alsip, who has started 11 of the 18 games, has a 1.11 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 50.2 innings. Freshman McKenna Snyder, who has made eight appearances, all in relief, has a team-best 0.75 ERA.
 
On the Bases: The Stars have swiped 48 bases in 53 attempts. Hadley Gibson leads OCU with 11 stolen bases in a dozen attempts. Gabby Moreno is nine-for-nine.
 
About OPSU: The Aggies are 5-17 overall and 3-5 in the SAC after losing three of four at Central Christian last weekend. OPSU enters the series with a .254 batting average, led by junior Haeley Vasquez. Vasquez leads the Aggies with a .303 batting average, two home runs and 13 RBIs. Panhandle sports a 4.32 team earned run average. Starter Marin Jacobs is 4-6 with a 2.91 ERA.
