OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City opens its men's wrestling season on Saturday in the Friends University Falcon Open.

OCU Entrants: The Stars have 16 wrestlers entered in the event. Mercer Ashley, Hayden Brown, Kolby Depron, Cash Donnell, Kaden Fetterolf, Jordan Lomeli, Wes Madden, Bryce Milster, Dylan Milster, Jake Moon, Cole Olguin, Tate Picklo, Omari Smith, John Wiley, Alex Wilson and Hayden Wright.
 
Stars Ranked: Oklahoma City University men's wrestling begins its season in two weeks as the No. 12 team in the NAIA, according to the coaches' poll. The Stars are tied for 12th with Central Methodist, both with 118 points in the preseason poll. OCU has nine wrestlers in the Top 25 across six weight classes. Jordan Lomeli is ranked seventh and Hayden Brown 15th in the 165-pound class. Tate Picklo is the No. 8 wrestler in the nation among 174-pounders. Bryce Milster comes in at No. 11 in the 184-pound group. Kolby Depron is ranked 13th and Kaden Fetterolf is No. 19 in the 149-pound class. John Wiley is ranked eighth and Cash Donnell is ranked 19th at 125 pounds and Jake Moon is No. 25 in the 157-pound class.
 
Returners: Key returners include Omari Smith, Jordan Lomeli, Hayden Brown, Bryce Milster and Jake Moon.
 
Transfer Strength: One of the top NAIA recruiting classes in college wrestling includes six NCAA Division I wrestlers, five Wrestlers from Oklahoma University (Tate Picklo (174), John Wiley (157), Cash Donnell (125), Kaden Fetterolf (149), Vincent Citrano (133)), and one from Bucknell University (Kolby Depron (149)).
 
Fresh Faces: Kaden Wallace (141) is a multiple-time state tournament placer from Lawton and won a state title last year. Wes Madden (165), Hayden Wright (125), Jace Province (141), and Cole Olguin (184) were all 6A Oklahoma state medalists last season.
 
The Field: The Falcon Open features several ranked NAIA squads including top-ranked Grand View. Also in the field are seventh-ranked Missouri Valley, No. 10 Doane, No. 17 Arizona Christian, No. 18 St. Mary, No. 19 Concordia and No. 22 Baker.
