CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Oklahoma City placed sixth in the men's collegiate four with coxswain at the Head of the Charles on Sunday, beating teams such as Michigan, Vanderbilt, USC, Georgia Tech and Notre Dame.
The crew of coxswain
Caitlyn Koekemoer, stroke
Ilija Panic, third seat
Ethan Romburgh, second seat
Keaton Knopp and bow
Nick Burks finished the course in 16:33.7, just a hair off of the medal time.
"I was very happy with the crews effort today," said OCU Head Coach
Bryan Volpenhein. "Would have liked to finish a couple places higher, but they had a good race and were 30" closer to first place than last year and 12" out of a medal. It's a good result and will keep us hungry for the next one."
OCU was the lone NAIA entrant in the 40-team race.
Next up for OCU rowing is the Princeton Chase, which wraps up the fall portion of the season on Nov. 2.
