OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Stars softball team closes out its home regular schedule and will look to remain perfect at Ann Lacy Stadium with a four-game set starting on Thursday night at 5 PM.

About the Stars   

  • Oklahoma City enters this weekend series on a 21-game winning streak after securing a big-time win over NCAA Division II Rogers State who was eighth in the country.
  • The Stars will get underway with its final home series of the 2024 regular season where they will look to go undefeated at home which hasn't been done since the 2017 season, the year the Stars captured their 10th National Championship.
  • The OCU third basemen Rally Radacy carries a .404 batting average into the series after notching a hit in seven of the last eight games. Radacy is just six runs away from setting a new career-high in runs scored which she set in her freshman season, currently, Radacy has scored in seven of the last eight games.
  • Kaitlyn Jones has been on fire for the Stars as of late entering alongside Radacy with a hit in seven of her last eight games and has climbed up to tie for second on the team in batting average at .452. Jones comes off big games in the series finale against Oklahoma Panhandle State on Saturday as well as Tuesday's first game against Rogers State where she collected three hits in each game while also having an RBI in each of the two contests including hustling down her second triple of the year.
  • Senior Kamryn Garvie enters on a seven-game hitting streak after going 2-for-2 in game one and 1-for-3 in game two on Tuesday. Garvie holds down a .433 average and sits tied for the team lead in home runs with 12. Garvie was named SAC player of the week on Apr. 8 after a big series against Wayland Baptist where she batted .778 with three home runs and six RBIs while slashing a 1.889 slugging percentage and an .800 on-base percentage.
  • Baileigh Loux enters as the conference leader in batting average while also leading the SAC in hits. Loux bats at a .512 clip and also leads the team in runs scored. Loux comes in with a hit in her last three including an RBI in game one against Rogers State along with a run scored in each game. 
  • This week's Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Week belongs to Emersen Heron who comes off a big series in Goodwell over the weekend where she batted .667 with four doubles, a triple, home run and collected three hits in three of the four games. Heron holds the team lead in doubles with 17 and runs batted in with 55.
  • Offense isn't the only thing Heron strives at as the two-way player holds a perfect 18-0 record inside the circle with a 0.89 ERA. Heron comes off a shutout victory in game two against Rogers State on Tuesday as she dealt her 12th complete game and third scoreless outing of the year.
  • Freshman Tara Hoehner enters as another Star hitting above the .400 mark as Hoehner bats at a .410 average while tying Loux for second on the team in doubles with 15. 
  • Amy Crabaugh has put together a seven-game hitting streak as the senior catcher delivered in the clutch on Tuesday night where Crabaugh came up with an RBI in each game including a home run in game one and then the go-ahead base hit up the middle of the game two to give the Stars the 1-0 victory. 
  • Senior right-hander Shelbey Cornelson comes off her 16th complete game this year while improving her record to 17-2. Cornselson holds a 1.34 ERA and earned the SAC Pitcher of the Week on Apr. 8 alongside Garvie after Cornelson strung together a pair of shutout wins against Wayland Baptist highlighted by her career-high 15-strikeout performance in the first game of the series.

  • The Rams come off a series defeat against Southwestern Christian where the Eagles were victorious in the first three games before Texas Wesleyan won the series finale. 
  • Texas Wesleyan comes in desperate need of a win after dropping its last nine of 10.
  • Haylie Delarosa enters as the team leader in average at .321 coming off a three-hit game against SCU.
  • Like Heron, Kylie Barnes is the Rams top two-way player leading the offense in multiple categories such as RBIs (24), home runs (5), runs scored (21), and doubles (5). 
  • Barnes also leads the pitching staff with a 3.61 ERA in 93.0 innings pitched. Barnes saw one of her top games come against Harris Stowe early on in the season where she tallied a season-high nine strikeouts in a shutout win.
  • Abbie Bird leads the Rams in innings pitched with 111.1 and comes off a stellar performance against Southwestern Christian where she tossed her first no-hitter of the year to avoid the series sweep as she struck out seven batters in the shutout win. 

What's Next  

  • Oklahoma City will finish off the season on the road in Waxahachie, Texas where the Stars will take on Southwestern Assemblies of God Apr. 26-27.
