About the Stars    

  • The OCU softball team comes off its biggest series of the year against no. 2 USAO where the Stars took three out of four games on the road against the Drovers.  
  • Oklahoma City now moves to 22-2 overall while holding an 11-1 record in Sooner Athletic Conference play.  
  • Baileigh Loux comes off her third SAC Player of the Week selection after putting together a five-game hitting streak with a run scored in five straight.  
  • Loux aided the Stars to a 4-1 record last week including a series win over No. 2 Science & Arts by going 9-of-16 from the plate for an average of .563 while having four extra-base hits during the week. Loux hit two home runs while driving in eight runs and scoring five times with a slugging percentage of 1.063. 
  • Rally Radacy comes in as the conference leader in runs scored with 33 on the year while stringing together a five-game hitting streak. Radacy had a big game in the series finale against USAO going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and a double. 
  • Emersen Heron has been getting it done on both sides as the junior has also strung along a five-game hitting streak including a big day against MACU on Mar. 15 with three home runs in the 3-0 win.  
  • Heron also remains unbeaten inside the circle at a perfect 9-0 in 2024. In the same game where she hit three homers, Heron tossed a complete game shutout against the Evangels. 
  • Freshman Tara Hoehner and senior Kaitlyn Jones round out the .400 plus hitters as Hoehner used five RBIs in game four of the USAO series to help push the Stars to the 9-2 win while Jones collected three RBIs in a career day of four hits against the Drovers.  
  • Kamryn Garvie added three hits in the series finale against Science & Arts and has moved into a tie with Loux for the team lead in home runs with six.  
  • Shelbey Cornelson holds the second most strikeouts in the Sooner Athletic Conference with 78, just three behind the SAC leader Sophie Williams of USAO. Cornelson leads the team in innings pitched at 65.1 while holding a 9-2 record inside the circle.  
  • Oklahoma City has used the long ball for good reason this year, leading the Sooner Athletic Conference with 27 home runs as a team. 
  • OCU also leads the SAC with 207 runs scored, 40 more than the second-highest team in Southwestern Christian.

About the Eagles 

  • Southwestern Christian enters this series on a five-game winning streak with a 15-8 overall record while starting with an 11-1 record in conference play.  
  • In SAC play, the Eagles took three out of four from Central Christian after sweeping Langston and came off a series sweep against SAGU most recently.  
  • Madison Jones leads all Eagles with a .471 batting average enters with a five-game hitting streak and comes off a 3-for-4 game against SAGU. 
  • Hannah Keele leads the conference in stolen bases with 22 while batting .464 on the year and leads SCU with 39 hits. Keele carries an eight-game hitting streak into this series and comes off back-to-back three-hit games.  
  • Jessie Moralez leads the Eagles with 24 RBIs along with a team-high 11 doubles.  
  • Shayrah Gladness leads the team with three home runs and has an RBI in each of the last three games.  
  • Three different Eagles head the pitching staff with Lauren Schallert leading the way with a 2.81 ERA and 57.1 IP. Schallert went the full distance in the 11-inning affair with SAGU on Mar. 15. 
  • Addison Hanna holds a 3.17 ERA in just 26.2 innings of work while making four starts this season.  
  • Harli Clem has started the most games for SCU 10 times while making 13 appearances. Clem holds a 3.54 ERA and tossed a season-high 10 strikeouts back on Mar. 1 against Mayville State.  
  • Southwestern Christian does a quality job on the bases leading the conference with 71 stolen bases. 

Series History   

  • Since 2017, Oklahoma City is 25-0 against SCU which included meeting six times last year, four times in the regular season, and twice in the SAC tournament.

  • OCU will hit the road again and take on Langston Mar. 28-29.
