WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS – The Oklahoma City women's cross country team finished third in the Mustang Derby out seven teams competing in Thursday's event.
The OCU women's cross country team opened its 2023 season on Thursday in Wichita Falls, Texas for the Mustang Derby. Six different schools competed in the event which included Midwestern State, Dallas Baptist, Southeastern Oklahoma, UT Permian-Basin, Eastern New Mexico and Oklahoma City.
For the Oklahoma City squad the Stars finished in third place with a score of 98 and an average time of 16:23.7.
Sydney Krehbiel finished as the top runner among the OCU bunch with a time of 15:35.0 coming in 12h place. Isabelle Spiller came in two spots behind Krehbiel in 14th with a time of 15.51.7 and a pace of 3:58/K. Mellissa Zapata came in 22nd with a time of 16:22.5 and a pace of 4:06/K.
Emily Schneider finished with a pace of 4:13/K and a time of 16:50.6 to place her in 26th spot. Madeline Adams came in 31st overall with a time of 17:18.7 and right behind Adams was Kaylee Campbell who finished with a time of 17:26.8 coming in 32nd. Rounding out the Stars was Stevi Johnson who came in the 35th spot with a time 17:38.6 at a pace of 4:25/K.
