OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University landed the No. 3 seed in the Sooner Athletic Conference baseball tournament beginning 7:30 p.m. Friday at Jim Wade Stadium and Bill Smith Ballpark in Chickasha, Okla. 

The tournament includes two four-team double-elimination brackets. The teams that win each bracket move onto the SAC Tournament championship 1 p.m. Monday at Bill Smith Ballpark. 

Oklahoma City (26-19) faces Southwestern Assemblies of God (30-20) at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Jim Wade Stadium. Texas Wesleyan (35-12, 18-6 SAC) seized its first SAC regular-season championship by sweeping Mid-America Christian over the weekend in Oklahoma City. The Rams, ranked 14th in the NAIA, takes on Panhandle State (8-34-1) at 4 p.m. 

Science & Arts, ranked 25th nationally, hosts the remaining teams in the tournament. The No. 2-seeded Drovers (31-17) collides with Southwestern Christian (32-18) at 2:30 p.m., and Mid-America Christian (35-14) squares off against Wayland Baptist (27-20) at 6 p.m. Friday at Bill Smith Ballpark. 

Oklahoma City became last year's SAC Tournament champion with a 13-5 victory over Science & Arts on May 9, 2022 at Jim Wade Stadium. The Stars erased a 5-1 first-inning deficit by crushing four home runs, including Frederic Walter's solo blast that put OCU ahead for good in the third inning.
