Box Score 2 GOODWELL, Okla. - Oklahoma City University handled the Aggies on Saturday with 12-2 and 7-1 wins at Jim Quimby Field. The Stars move to 39-7, 26-2 in Sooner Athletic Conference softball with one more two-game series remaining after this current four-game series.
The Stars, ranked fifth in the NAIA jumped on Panhandle State early in the first as they brought home four runs off four hits and two errors.
Lexi Duff and
Analise Rayburn claimed two RBIs each. OCU added one more run in the second and third as
Tiffany Paul scored on
Kamryn Garvie's sacrifice fly and
Kaitlyn Jones scored after her leadoff triple.
The Stars added two more in the fourth to bring the lead to 8-1 as
Rally Radacy and Paul scored. They added four more in the fifth as
Grace Pollon drove in Paul. Garvie finished the scoring with a double to score
Carlee Mollet.
OPSU got their first two runs in the fourth inning.
Brynlee Alsip came in to get the final three outs after
Shelbey Cornelson picked up two strikeouts in her four innings of work.
Paul led the Stars in game one going 2-for-3 with two singles, three stolen bases, three runs, and an RBI.
Rally Radacy picked up an RBI and a run in the game. Garvie went 1-for-3 with three RBIs. Rayburn supplied two RBIs in her one hit and
Kaitlyn Jones provided a 2-for-3 performance with two runs. Mollet,
Amy Crabaugh, Pollon, and Duff all had a hit as well.
In game two, OCU couldn't get any runs across in the first three innings as they went one-two-three in the first and third. They left two runners on base in the second after a leadoff double. The Aggies took advantage and scored the first run off a double. The Stars eventually scored in the fourth inning after back-to-back hits to start the inning. An error and a groundout RBI from Duff would welcome home their first two runs.
OCU scored three more in the sixth as Crabaugh picked up an RBI off her bunt single. Rayburn and Jones scored off errors.
Kaylee Witte came through as a pinch hitter and drove home Jones and Rayburn for the RBIs.
Rayburn led OCU in game two going 3-for-4 with three runs. Jones went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs. Garvie supplied OCU with two hits and a run. Witte had two RBIs off one hit, as Mason and Duff all had one RBI.
Lexi Duff started and struck out three in seven innings of work.
OCU gets back to action with a double header tomorrow at 12 p.m. against Panhandle State.
