OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University bested Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) 13-0 and 10-1 on Friday at Ann Lacy Stadium.
The Stars had four hits in the doubleheader. The Stars, ranked eighth in NAIA softball, moved to 24-6, 11-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference on the season.
Kaitlyn Jones had an inside-the-park home run in the third inning to give the Stars an 8-0 advantage in the first game.
Amy Crabaugh hit her second homer of the season in the fourth to make it 13-0, which stood as the final score.
Crabaugh, a senior from Edmond, Okla., majoring in biomedical sciences, ended with four RBIs and three hits. Jones, a senior biochemistry major from Edmond, Okla., finished with three RBIs and two hits.
Analise Rayburn and Crabaugh singled in the first two runs in the second.
Rally Radacy and
Grace Pollon gave OCU their next two runs on RBI singles.
Brooklyn Mason would supply the Stars ninth and 10th runs before Crabaugh's homer.
Shelbey Cornelson limited Southwestern Assemblies of God to one hit in five innings while striking out seven. Cornelson moved to 12-2 on the season.
In the second game of the twin bill,
Analise Rayburn knocked in her fourth home run in the third inning and picked up two hits, two runs, and an RBI.
OCU got on the board early with
Tiffany Paul's RBI single. Paul stole second a pitch later, bringing her season total to 19 with one in four straight games.
The Stars got another run off
Kamryn Garvie's groundout RBI. Paul, a sophomore from Choctaw, Okla., studying mathematics, doubled in the second to score Radacy and Crabaugh.
Lexi Duff doubled in Paul and Mason later in the inning giving OCU a 7-0 lead.
Radacy a sophomore from Lookeba, Okla., majoring in exercise science, supplied the final two runs in the third with an RBI single.
Duff pitched a five-inning game with three strikeouts. The one run was unearned. Duff's record improved to 10-3.
OCU plays Southwestern Assemblies of God in another twin bill starting at noon Saturday at Ann Lacy Stadium.
