MOORE, Okla. – Oklahoma City University opened its competitive cheerleading season by nabbing the No. 1 score in the Oklahoma City Classic on Friday at Moore Brink.
The Stars compiled a score of 86.75 to top Friends (Kan.), which had a 74.7, and Langston (69.9). OCU had a performance free of deductions.
Oklahoma City collected the second finest score of the season so far in the NAIA. Midland (Neb.) owns the No. 1 tally with a 91.60.
OCU recognized its seniors Katie Gregory, a nursing major from Choctaw, Okla., and Peyton York, an elementary education major from El Reno, Okla. Gregory and York are two-time all-Americans.
Oklahoma City resumes its season Feb. 4 in the Bethel Thresher Invitational at North Newton, Kan.
