OCU Runs Winning Streak To 11 Games With Shutout Over SAGU

WAXAHACHIE, Texas – No. 5 ranked Oklahoma City University extended its winning streak to 11 games with a 6-0 Sooner Athletic Conference road with over Southwestern Assemblies of God. The result marked OCU's fifth shutout of the season.
 
Starting pitcher Eli Davis, a junior, improved to 7-0 on the season after scattering five singles with seven strikeouts and two walks in eight innings of work. Sophomore Tyler Polk pitched a scoreless ninth inning to close out the win.
 
OCU (35-3, 14-2 SAC) out-hit SAGU 11-5, with five of those hits going for extra bases.
 
Senior first baseman Frederic Walter got the scoring started with a RBI single in the second inning. The Stars scored four runs on four hits in the third inning to build a 5-0 lead.
 
Senior center fielder Cross Factor got the scoring started with a RBI single in the third. Senior third baseman Darian Luper then scored on a passed ball with RBI doubles senior left fielder Peyton Crispin and senior designated hitter Cade Stephens to follow.
 
Luper capped off the season with a solo homer, his second of the season, in the seventh inning.
 
OCU and SAGU will close out the series with a doubleheader tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
