WAXAHACHIE, Texas – Oklahoma City University continued its late-season roll with a doubleheader sweep over Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) on Saturday afternoon at SAGU Field.
The Stars, ranked fifth in NAIA baseball, took the opener 8-3 before rolling to a 21-0 win in the series finale. OCU (37-3, 16-2 SAC) has now won 13 straight games overall and seven straight in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
Senior first baseman
Frederic Walter lifted the Stars to an early 2-0 lead in the opener with a two-run homer in the top of the second inning.
The lead stood at 3-1 through four innings before the Stars tacked on two runs in the fifth inning. The first run scored on an error before senior left fielder
Peyton Crispin stretched the lead to 5-1 with a sac fly that scored freshman
Hunter Lenochan.
SAGU scored twice in the bottom of the fifth and the score stood at 5-3 entering the seventh inning. The Stars put the contest away with a three-run seventh, scoring on a RBI single by senior center fielder
Cross Factor, sac fly by Crispin and RBI single by Walter.
Senior
Tanner Schoeninger (8-0) earned the win after allowing three runs on six hits with three strikeouts and three walks in six innings. Senior
Grant Harrison closed out the win after allowing one hit with one strikeout in the bottom of the seventh.
OCU finished with 17 hits and a season-high 20 RBIs in the game two route. The Stars took control of game two early, scoring three runs in the first inning and eight runs in the second to build an 11-0 lead.
A total of 10 players contributed to the hit total with junior right fielder
Jesse Fonteboa and Lenochan leading the way with three hits apiece.

Cade Stephens finished with four RBIs apiece. Factor, Maun and Walter delivered home runs with Factor blasting a NAIA-leading 21st homer of the season in the fourth inning.
Five Stars pitchers combined to shutout the Lions on three hits with senior
Tanner Sparks (6-1) earning the win after allowing no runs on one hit with three strikeouts and one walk in four innings of work.
OCU will close out the home portion of its regular season schedule next weekend by hosting Central Christian (Kan.) at Jim Wade Stadium. First pitch in Friday's single game is scheduled for 6 p.m.
