OCU nabs No. 1 seed in SAC Tournament

19th-ranked Stars have secured last four SAC Tournament titles

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University owns the top seed as the Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball tournament begins Tuesday with quarterfinal action.
Oklahoma City (11-2, 10-0 SAC) meets Langston at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Abe Lemons Arena. The quarterfinal matches will take place at the higher seeds' on-campus home arenas.
The tournament shifts to OCU's Abe Lemons Arena for the semifinals and championship. The semifinal contests will be 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Friday with the title match on tap 1 p.m. Saturday.
The Stars, ranked 19th in the NAIA, collected their fifth SAC regular-season championship in a row and have taken the last four conference tournament crowns. Oklahoma City went through the league season undefeated for the second consecutive season and extended its winning streak within SAC play to 36 matches.
The SAC awards two NAIA Championships berths. The NAIA Championship Opening Round occurs April 17 on campuses throughout the nation followed by the NAIA Championships on April 27-May 1 in Sioux City, Iowa.
