OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City volleyball wraps up the home portion of its schedule with a pair of contests this weekend, facing Wayland Baptist at 6 p.m. on Friday and Oklahoma Panhandle State at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Â
The Stars enter the weekend at 17-7 overall and 11-7 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
Â
With the season winding down to its final two weeks, a logjam sits behind 17
th-ranked Nelson. Texas Wesleyan is second at 12-5, followed by Wayland Baptist and USAO at 11-6 and OCU, John Brown and Ozarks at 11-7.
Â
The top four teams host a first-round match in the SAC Tournament, making this weekend very significant. OCU clinches a playoff berth with a win in any of the next four games, but a home berth is another matter. A pair of wins this week not only clinches a postseason berth, but would vault the Stars past Wayland Baptist. The Stars very much control their destiny.

Kacie Townsend is second in kills at 3.35.
