OCU begins 2019-20 victoriously

Judkins notches wins in first two contests

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University opened the season with two victories Saturday at Abe Lemons Arena.
The Stars routed Dallas Baptist 18-5 and Texas-Tyler 20-2 before falling 19-3 to Oklahoma Baptist. OCU handed Karly Judkins her first head-coaching wins.
"With this being our first tournament of the season, I was very pleased to see how each and every single athlete came together for one common goal," Judkins said. "We set out to focus on ourselves and performing to the best of our ability, and I believe we did just that."
Against Dallas Baptist, OCU tallied four fourth-quarter points to close out the victory.
Against Texas-Tyler, the Stars got out to an 8-0 lead by halftime. Oklahoma City clinched the win with eight fourth-quarter points.
Oklahoma Baptist sealed its win with seven points in the fourth.
The Stars face Southwestern Christian at 8 a.m., Southwest Baptist (Mo.) at 1:15 p.m. and Oklahoma State at 2:15 p.m. Sunday at Abe Lemons Arena.
