EDMOND, Okla. – Oklahoma City University suffered a 16-10 loss to Hope International (Calif.) that eliminated the Stars from the NAIA College STUNT Nationals on Saturday at Hamilton Field House.
Oklahoma City collected a 13-5 victory over Missouri Baptist to begin competition in the STUNT Nationals, then fell into the elimination bracket with a 23-2 loss to Jessup (Calif.). The Stars completed their season with an 8-7 mark.
Against Missouri Baptist, the Stars got out to a 3-0 first-quarter lead. In the third, OCU stretched its advantage out to 8-2. Oklahoma City improved to 2-0 against Missouri Baptist in 2022-23.
Against Jessup, Oklahoma City scored its points in the second half. Jessup went to 16-1 in its bid to repeat as national champion.
Against Hope International, OCU outscored Hope International 3-0 to close its deficit to 7-5. Hope International secured the victory to remain among the three teams alive in the tournament.
