Stars' Wall becomes SAC pitcher of week

Sophomore from Marlow, Okla., grabs award for fourth time in career

OKLAHOMA CITY – Georgia Wall of Oklahoma City University was named the Sooner Athletic Conference softball pitcher of the week for the week of Feb. 20-26.
Wall, a sophomore from Marlow, Okla., won the award for the fourth time in her career. She took the honor three times last season.
On the week, Wall pitched 18 shutout innings, allowed just six hits and one walk while striking out 17 in three wins for top-ranked OCU.
Wall struck out eight hitters in just four innings in the Stars' 9-0 win over Southwestern Christian and threw a one-hit shutout in OCU's 5-0 win against Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.).
On the season, Wall has a 7-0 record with a miniscule 0.15 ERA. She has struck out 44 batters in 46.1 innings while allowing just one earned run.
She is the first Star to be named pitcher of the week this season.
