Ellis of OCU reels in SAC player of week

Senior from Yukon, Okla., takes first weekly league honor

Madison Ellis leads the NAIA with three triples this season.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Madison Ellis from Oklahoma City University collected the first Sooner Athletic Conference softball player of the week this season.
Ellis, a senior from Yukon, Okla., hit .529 with three doubles, three triples, one home run and nine RBIs during the week of Feb. 6-12.
Ellis posted a 1.235 slugging percentage in the Stars' 5-0 performance in the Cowtown Classic over the weekend in Fort Worth, Texas. Ellis went 3-for-3 with three runs scored, a double, two triples and four RBIs vs. Doane (Neb.). She became SAC player of the week for the first time in her OCU career.
The Stars, ranked No. 1 in the NAIA, postponed their doubleheader originally set for Tuesday vs. Bacone at Ann Lacy Stadium due to rain. OCU will face Ottawa (Kan.) at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Central Baptist February Meltdown in Conway, Ark.
