Meador, Miller give OCU both weekly SAC awards

Pair lead Stars to 5-0 start in Cowtown Classic

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University's Abby Meador and Leslie Miller were honored by the Sooner Athletic Conference as softball pitcher of the week and player of the week, respectively.
Meador, a sophomore from Midwest City, Okla., picked up SAC pitcher of the week for fifth time in her Stars career. Miller, a senior from Blanchard, Okla., leads the NAIA in doubles with seven.
In the Cowtown Classic, Meador went 2-0 and struck out 19 in 11.2 innings while not allowing an earned run. Meador worked 4.2 innings with seven strikeouts with the victory against fifth-ranked Central Methodist (Mo.) on Saturday.
During the week of Feb. 8-14, Miller hit .611 with 11 RBIs and a 1.000 slugging percentage. Against Houston-Victoria, Miller not only went 4-for-4 with three runs driven in, but she also earned the victory with 11 strikeouts in a seven-inning, complete-game effort.
The sixth-ranked Stars (5-0) hold their home opener 2 p.m. Tuesday against Bacone at Ann Lacy Stadium.
