OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University meets Mid-America Christian at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball tournament quarterfinals at Abe Lemons Arena.
The SAC Tournament quarterfinals will be on campus sites. The tournament shifts to Plainview, Texas, for the semifinals Friday and championship Saturday.
No. 12 OCU (27-3, 18-0 SAC) went unbeaten through 18 league matches to grab its first SAC regular-season championship. The Stars took 15 of their conference wins in three sets. OCU enters the tournament with a winning streak of 19 in a row.
Oklahoma City has its first 25-win season since 2008. By winning the regular-season crown, OCU gained its first NAIA Championships berth since 2010. The league's other national-tournament bid is at stake in the tournament. Wayland Baptist has won the past two SAC Tournament titles. OCU seeks its first SAC Tournament crown since 2010.
The Stars swept two matches from Mid-America Christian (12-19, 3-15 SAC). OCU won at Mid-America Christian on Sept. 20 and at Abe Lemons Arena on Oct. 11.
Manon Soraru has provided OCU with a team-best 3.44 kills per set, while Sanja Vojnovic tops the Stars with 11.21 assists a set to rank fifth in the NAIA. The Stars rank fifth in team hitting percentage (.271).
