OCU falls 7-4 to USAO in SAC title game

Stars host NAIA Softball Championship Opening Round on May 11-13

Abby Meador went to 25-3 on the season for the Stars.
Box Score OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University dropped a 7-4 decision to 13th-ranked Science and Arts of Oklahoma on Saturday in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament championship game at Ann Lacy Stadium.
The Stars, ranked No. 1 in NAIA softball, went to 52-4 on the year. OCU has won 16 SAC Tournament titles.
Oklahoma City struck first in the second inning when Madison Ellis, a sophomore from Yukon, Okla., singled to center field and drove in Laci Joyner in the second inning.
The Stars scored again when McRae Cayton, a junior from Irvine, Calif., doubled to center field and scored Joyner in the fourth. Later in the inning, Kyndra Holasek, a junior from Mustang, Okla., singled through the right side and drove in Sarah De La Cruz and Carissa Turang to end the Stars scoring.
Holasek went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, while Joyner went 1-for-1 with two runs scored for the Stars.
Abby Meador, a freshman from Midwest City, Okla., went to 25-3 in the complete game and allowed four earned runs on five hits and struck out four.
OCU holds a spot in the NAIA Softball Championship Opening Round as a host team starting May 11 at Ann Lacy Stadium.
